We Can Create Any Embossed Coat Of Arms To Fit Within The Center Of The Finial
Most of the examples shown on this page are from the Beaulieu Estate in the New Forest. The New Forest Strategy funded by the Countryside Commission and Hampshire County Council had a remit to provide "tasteful and traditional finger-post signs that blend into the rural environment". We were honoured to be chosen for this prestigious and historically important project and feel we have improved the period feel and natural look of the forest. The comment we most often hear about our finger -post signs is "they look as if they've always been here".
Many authorities are now delegating responsibility for signing to parish councils who are approaching us to replace or repair their old finger-post signs. While the modern warboy sign is excellently designed for its task, it completely lacks charm and is out of character in a rural environment. Further, the warboy sign is not mandatory on some B roads and the traditional finger post is now being reintroduced on some rural roads both for aesthetic reasons and also because it is recognised that it can have a traffic calming effect.
